I am pretty sure that you have encountered a situation where you or your team picked up a user story that seemed perfect until your team started working on it. Suddenly, everyone has a different interpretation, and what seemed clear becomes a mess.

I’ve been there myself.

It’s frustrating to watch a “ready” story become extremely confusing, all because the Acceptance Criteria wasn’t as “clear” as it seemed.

Why does this happen?

More importantly, how can we fix vague Acceptance Criteria before it causes trouble?

In this post, I will address this issue from the perspective of my experience working with numerous teams that solved this same problem for themselves.

Let’s get started.
